Comments on Crypto and the Century's Biggest Breakthroughs So Far
We believe these to be the two most important breakthroughs of the 21st Century so far...
If you have known Don’t Count Us Out Yet Founder and Author Craig Gordon over the past 30 years, you know he has displayed the following editorial cartoon prominently in his home and office. It serves as a reminder of how financial markets work both ways up and down.

Well, aside from this cartoon, the one other piece of financial advice Craig received was told to him by one of my mentors, Claude Rosenberg. It was that stocks and markets go up like building the World Trade Center, but go down suddenly and without a chance for most to escape the carnage.
With that in mind, we’ve come to tell you more about what is going on in cryptocurrency markets right now. The question is whether this topic is a cyclical move down more than anyone expects (if you believe in the cartoon like I do) or whether this was just a fad that is going to disappear.
We honestly don’t have an answer for you on that question and rather than stating our personal opinions, we think it would be better to direct you to a few recent articles we’ve published in the past few months.
1. The Web 3 vs. Web 3.0 War
First, this piece from April 13 spells out the fight between financial investors such as Andreessen Horowitz and their definition of Web 3.0 vs. the non-capitalistic Web 3 idealists such as JackDorsey.
2. Molly White’s Crypto Cons
Second, we suggest you go back to our May 4 article on Molly White, who is now the anti-crypto hero, for a balanced view on the topic.
Will Web 3.0 be greater than just an investment tool? How do the environmental and fraud problems get solved? If you have these questions, the articles above might lead you to the right answers.
On the other end of the spectrum, we believe the two most important news stories of the 21st century happened this month.
1. Could this be the Cure to Cancer?
The cure for many cancers may have just been discovered due to genetic engineering and immune drugs. We actually published a piece on this last week and hope you read it again if you or anyone close has been diagnosed with cancer. There are over 900 trials going on for various diseases, which include most cancers right now…
2. Google DeepMind and AI Consciousness
The discussion of whether or not Google’s DeepMind artificial intelligence process has gained consciousness, as one suspended high-end researcher for the firm claims, or not tells us we are much closer to having a human comparable thought process outside of the biological human approach. We need to be really thoughtful about this with many inputs from a variety of human perspectives. Our article from March 23 outlines the three major AI languages is worth another read as they all seem to be close, if not at, the point of consciousness. We will be writing about this next week.
Also, we would encourage you to read the article “The Metamorphosis,” written by Henry Kissinger in 2019 for The Atlantic, which discusses this very subject.
All in all, the reasons we started Don’t Count Us Out Yet are expanding much faster than we thought, and we hope you stay with us as we try to keep you abreast of developments without judgment and involved in the next steps for all six areas we cover.
Best,
The Don’t Count Us Out Yet Team
