Season's Greetings From The Don't Count Us Out Yet Staff
Happy Holidays friends, family and readers of Don’t Count Us Out Yet!
We are so grateful in these turbulent times for all of your support in our soft launch. As we enter our first holiday season, we will be taking a short break from posting content. But don’t worry, we will resume publication on Jan. 9, 2023.
What a first year it has been! We thought a good way to thank all of you for your help would be to end the year with a short summary of our thoughts on the progress of all six areas we vow to cover for you.
Artificial Intelligence
We have seen more progress in AI in the last three months than in the last five years. In 2023, get ready for all kinds of new ways AI will be monetized and used to help society.
Genetic Engineering
More and more research is showing how genetic engineering can cure or prevent cancers and auto-immune diseases, plus a variety of other areas. Next year will bring approaches where it may become the first line of treatment for some diseases, at least for the patients in final stages.
Sustainable Planet
Finally, we have seen some progress from governments, including the United States, to create rules and regulations that give incentives to having green energy replace fossil fuels. We are also watching for major technological breakthroughs in the green area, especially in wind and battery storage to make adaption even quicker.
Creator Economy
In 2022, too many creators were chasing too few customers to make this area as scaleable as we had hoped. May 2023 bring more customers to this area.
Cryptocurrency and Fintech
We have halted coverage of this area for the time being until we see some general form of regulation created, such as making investor usage more secure. At that point, we will be able see if there are some real uses for the crypto area rather than just being a speculative investment asset class. The one area we suspect might be ready for prime time is NFTs.
Metaverse
2023 will bring new metaverse products from companies such as Apple and Google. This should help define whether virtual reality worlds, such as what Meta has developed, or augmented reality worlds will become the killer app everyone wants.
For us, 2023 will be the year to determine if there is a true market for this newsletter in the non-tech professional, retired and college student audience base. We would love for you to share this note or any of the articles we have published with people or influencers who you think might enjoy being part of our community. Also, we would love any comments you have.
Thank you again for your support. Happy Holidays, and see you next year!
Best,
Craig for the Don’t Count Us Out Yet Staff
